There are cold spots on your walls.
The next time it's really cold outside, walk around your home and place your hands on the wall at various spots. Are there some spots that are far colder than others? Maybe a certain wall feels cold, while all of the others feel warmer. The cold spots are likely areas where the insulation is lacking. Maybe that spot was once insulated, but the insulation has become compacted, moist, or otherwise damaged.
